Papanoga Lake Outpost

Welcome to Papaonga Lake Outpost. Experience true wilderness fishing for walleye and northern with only a short 20 minute flight from Ear Falls Ontario. Papaonga Lake is fed by a series of river systems and is considered one of the best remote lakes in the area. Papaonga is known for it’s great walleye fishing, and that why our gusts keep coming back. Stories of the elusive blue walleye that make up your days catch are shared back at the dinner table each night after a full day of catching fish!! Northerns are prevalent even while fishing for walleye, but for those who want to try casting, there are ample weedbeds available.

Early spring will still find many fish in the small rivers flowing in and out of Papaonga Lake. The lake it self is 5 miles long by 1½ miles wide. The end of the lake marks the start of the river system, which is navigable for 8 miles into two additional lakes.. You could probably catch as many fish on the point across from the cabin, as you will at the last lake down river, but the opportunity to explore is there for you.

Enjoy fresh fish while you are at the outpost, but Papaonga Lake Outpost is a conservation limit lake only. Pick up your licence and any live bait you want to bring with you in Ear Falls before you depart. Many of our guest will bring an ample supply of artificial lures and plastic jig bodies, The plastic bodies, last long and stay on for several fish.
